Using the second idea, you would write and publish your own articles, and then put them either on your own website or on a free hosting site that will host your content for you. Either way will probably work fine if you are just trying to create a passive stream of income based on product sales or advertising. Many people have made big money by building free websites on a free web host and then putting tons of effort and work into it until it was producing a decent income. There is nothing wrong with this other than the fact that you will not be able to sell the website, as it will be owned by the company that is hosting it for free. Nevertheless, if you are passionate about a topic and knowledgeable about it too then you can probably crank out enough articles to make some decent money for yourself through web publishing.
